Shawn Christopher Smith of Humble is charged with two counts of possession of child pornography.
An officer with the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office tracked down Smith via his computer's IP address.
According to court documents, the computer was being used to view and share pornographic images depicting children.
Investigators said they searched Smith's home and found illegal images on his computer, and he admitted to downloading and viewing them.
Smith was out of jail Monday on $20,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court for these charges on November 15.
