Fight over girl leads to stabbing at Clear Creek High School

LEAGUE CITY, TX

According to Clear Creek Independent School District spokesperson Elaina Polson, two male students got into a fight at Clear Creek High School on Main Street in League City. An 18-year-old student slashed a 16-year-old student at the back of his neck with a pair of scissors and then ran from the school, Polson said.

The suspect was caught by law enforcement officers several minutes later. Polson says the school was not put on lockdown during the incident.

The incident happened between periods Wednesday morning. Polson says the teens were fighting over a girl.

The 16-year-old was treated and released from a nearby hospital. The 18-year-old suspect was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, Polson said.

Polson added that the18-year-old will not be returning to the campus. The 16-year-old is recovering at home, and won't face any disciplinary action from the school. No extra security has been added to the campus following the incident.
