The crash happened around 12:30am on Aldine Mail Road at Aldine Westfield
Harris County Sheriff's Office deputies arrived at the scene and found a Chevrolet Impala that had smashed into a guardrail and a tree.
The driver was rushed to Ben Taub General Hospital where he later died.
Witnesses said the man was traveling at a high rate of speed when he left the roadway for some reason.
The impact was so great, the engine came out of the car.
His identity has not been released. No one else was involved.
Deputies are investigating what caused the accident.
