It happened on FM 355 between Trinity and Groveton. Sheriff's deputies say the driver of a log truck lost control on a sharp curve, then his rig rolled over and burst into flames.
The driver died at the scene and the fire spread to some nearby trees. The fire burned about 2,500 acres and caused authorities to evacuate a few homes around Old Analaska Road. The evacuation order remains in place this morning.
The fire is now 80 percent contained. So far, no structures have burned.
