It happened around 10:30pm on the Katy Freeway feeder road near Witte. Police say the Spring Branch ISD bus had just dropped off a group of students after a football game, and was returning to the bus barn at the time of the crash.
"It was struck in the right rear quarter panel by a car that was traveling at a high rate of speed and the bus flipped over on its side," said an officer.
The bus driver was not seriously hurt. The driver of the car went to the hospital in serious condition. Investigators say she will be tested for possible drunk driving.
