Fox is about 5 feet tall and weighs roughly 170 pounds. Fox's grandmother told authorities she is visiting from Nacogdoches area as part of summer break. Fox reportedly went to bed Monday night without raising any suspicions, but was gone once family members awoke Tuesday morning.

"On 8/16 the grandmother of Andrea Fox called us to report her as a missing person," said Sgt. John Jordan with the League City Police Department. "The grandmother reported that she left a note saying that she was going to New York and would be back in time for school and to not look for her. Through our investigation we have learned that the last person she was in contact with was a James Martin. We believe that he is northbound from League City possibly en route back to Colorado."

They believe she took off with 21-year-old James Dean Martin, her friend's older brother. Police say Martin is in the Army stationed at Fort Carlson in Colorado and believe the two could be headed there. Martin is supposed to report to duty in Colorado by Friday.

Police say they issued the Amber Alert is because she is 14 and he is 21.

Her grandmother says she is trying not to fear the worst, but wants her granddaughter to come home.

"She's 14. She needs to come home. And whoever has her needs to bring her home. Or call somebody -- I don't care if you come home or not. They need to let her call in and let her come home," said Dianne Schoening, Fox's grandmother.

Martin was last seen driving a new blue Chevy Aveo, possibly with paper license plates.

Fox was visiting from Timpson, Texas just north of Nacogdoches -- the same area where Martin also lives.

Her grandmother says Fox suffers emotional issues and prays for her safe return. She told Eyewitness News the teen takes medication for ADHD, and is considered naive for her age.

If you've seen either Fox or Martin, you're asked to call League City police.
