The incident happened at The Forum Apartments at 10210 Forum West. Police say the body of a man in his late teens or early 20's was found in an open carport at the back of the complex.
Witnesses heard several shots around the complex early Tuesday morning, detectives say, but it wasn't until around 10am that somebody found the victim.
Police say the complex is under renovation and only a few units are occupied at this time. Investigators found 11 shell casings around the victim and the immediate area, but they are not yet sure how many times the victim was struck.
There is no motive yet, according to police.
