Bus plunges into ravine in Pakistan, 14 killed

CHAMAN, Pakistan Police official Naseebullah Khan says the vehicle was going from Chaman, a town on the border with Afghanistan, to Quetta, the main city in the southwest.

The driver lost control and the minibus fell about 200 feet (61 meters) into the ravine around midday on Monday.

Khan says rescue workers recovered 14 bodies and took 10 injured passengers to the hospital.

Road accidents are common in Pakistan because of poor infrastructure and routine disregard of traffic laws.
