Longtime Pearland mayor leading the race

Former council member Kevin Cole was taking on Mayor Tom Reid.

Reid has been Pearland's mayor for more than 25 years.

The latest results show Reid with 59 percent of the vote to Cole's 41 percent. Close to 4,000 people cast ballots in the election.
