Ex-HPD officer sentenced for allegedly raping prostitute

HOUSTON

A jury handed down the punishment for Demetrie Dixon today, after convicting him of sexual assault on Friday. Dixon was sentenced to six years in prison.

Dixon allegedly picked up the victim and took her to a remote location then raped her on two separate occasions. There are two other cases the state is considering trying. One involves another prostitute. And in another case, he's accused of trying to do the same thing to a woman he thought was a prostitute. That person turned out to be an undercover officer.

Dixon was fired when the allegations came out.
