Houston Aeros make the playoffs

HOUSTON The Aeros are the No. 2 seed in the West Division and will face the Rivermen, who hold the No. 3 seed, in a best-of-seven series that will feature a 2-3-2 format.

This is the third time the teams have squared off in the opening round of the AHL Playoffs. Houston swept the Rivermen in four games in 2006 and won in seven games in 2009. Houston went 2-3-1-0 versus the Rivermen this season.
