Suspects caught on home surveillance camera

Two armed men were captured on a home video surveillance system when they forced their way into a Dayton home in December.

Authorities are trying to track down some suspects who were captured on a homeowner's private surveillance camera. The Dayton Police Department, the Liberty County Sheriff's Office and the Texas Rangers are requesting the public's help with identifying two individuals wanted in connection with burglary of a habitation/attempted home invasion robbery which occurred in the city of Dayton on December 28. Two armed men forced their way into a home. No one was at home at the time. The incident was captured on the homeowner's home video surveillance equipment.

These individuals are also persons of interest in a home invasion robbery/capital murder, which occurred in the Moss Bluff Community of Liberty County approximately two hours later. David Smith, 52, was shot to death in his home during the robbery. Smith's wife and stepchildren were bound and beaten by the suspects.

Investigators believe the suspects may be from the Houston-area.
