A sheriff's deputy is one of two people in the hospital after a chase ended in a crash in east Harris County last night. It all started just before 10:30pm when a sheriff's deputy tried to pull over a driver in a Nissan SUV. That's when deputies say that driver led the deputy on a chase.

"As they were coming through the intersection of Dell Dale, the vehicle that the deputy was pursuing struck a curb, lost control," said Deputy D. Wilkey with the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff's deputies say the suspect's tire came off and the deputy behind him slammed into another vehicle coming through the intersection. That vehicle spun around and hit another vehicle.

Both the deputy and another driver were taken to the hospital. The suspect fled, but was later captured. He is now in jail, facing charges.
