Lennon fans mark anniversary of his death

NEW YORK On the 30th anniversary of his murder outside his Manhattan apartment building, a 17-year-old girl from Boston came with her father to Strawberry Fields, the Central Park garden dedicated in his honor. Marissa DeLuca says she grew up with Lennon's voice. She says, "The Beatles are the soundtrack to my childhood."

Her father says nothing is as timeless as the music of Lennon and Paul McCartney.

In Liverpool, there's a vigil around the Peace and Harmony sculpture that was recently unveiled by his former wife, Cynthia, and their son Julian.

His widow, Yoko Ono, asks fans to join her in remembering Lennon with love and respect.
