Worker accused of assaulting disabled resident

HOUSTON Ricky Thompson, 53, is accused of sexually assaulting a 23-year-old mentally disabled resident back in May 2010. According to court documents, the victim was incapable of understanding or resisting his advances. She was reportedly disabled due to a severe beating she suffered as an infant, causing blindness and brain damage.

Thompson was charged on November 15 and is being held in the Harris County Jail without bond.

Thompson's criminal history dates back to 1975 and includes convictions for burglary, theft and drug charges. He has two active charges pending that were filed in January 2010 -- assault of a family member and making a terroristic threat.
