PUC almost finished with CenterPoint rate hike ratings

HOUSTON CenterPoint operates the poles and lines that transmit so no matter who your electric provider is, CenterPoint's rates impact you.

The company is asking for a five percent increase of its residential rates to pay for higher labor, pension and equipment costs.

All cities in our area have rejected the request, so CenterPoint is appealing those decisions.

The commission has until January 1 to make its decision.
