Suspect injured during police chase

A suspect injured when he jumped from a moving vehicle during a chase in Fort Bend County was airlifted to an area hospital

A burglary suspect has been injured after he jumped from a moving vehicle that was being chased by authorities. According to Terriann Carlson with the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office, at about 11:20am, a deputy pulled over a driver in a four door 1989 Chevy for a traffic stop on FM 1093. The suspects took off and deputies followed in pursuit.

After about 10 minutes, one of the suspects jumped from the moving vehicle into a ditch along FM 723 near Canyon Fields. The vehicle then crashed not far away and two other suspects took off running. Authorities say both of those suspects were captured.

Deputies tell Eyewitness News the suspects may be responsible for a number of burglaries in the neighborhood.

The injured suspect was airlifted to an area hospital. His condition is not immediately known.
