One injured in shooting at sports bar

PORTER, TX Authorities responded to the Porter Sports Bar and Grill in the 23000 block of Loop 494 in Porter on Monday just before midnight. Deputies learned there had been a fight inside between four men that had continued into the parking lot. Police say one of the men retrieved a handgun from his vehicle and began firing the weapon. One person was struck in the hand by the shooter.

Two men who police considered the primary aggressors were arrested. Mathew Robert Knowles, 26, was arrested and charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. His bond was set at $60,000.

Police located a second suspect at a nearby apartment complex. He was transported to a Conroe hospital for injuries sustained during the bar fight.

The victim in the shooting was treated at Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Woodlands for a gunshot wound to the hand and later released.
