Shelter workers try to coax homeless indoors

Several local shelters are stepping up their efforts to help the city's estimated 10,000 homeless survive the dangerously cold air. The Star of Hope's "Love in Action" van went out today trying to convince them to come in, even though shelters are expected to be beyond capacity. For those who plan to stay on the streets, mission workers passed out hundreds of blankets, coats and other pieces of winter clothing.

"What we try to do is go out every single day, a couple of times a day, and say please come indoors. sometimes it takes two, three trips," said Scott Arthur with the Star of Hope.
