The Ohio Highway Patrol says a tractor-trailer jackknifed, swerved into oncoming traffic and collided with a small bus transporting disabled passengers, killing four people in the bus. The accident occurred near Springfield in southwest Ohio. There was snow on the roads when the crash occurred and it has been snowing steadily throughout the region all day.

Sgt. Raymond Durant says the tractor-trailer was heading westbound on Interstate 70 on Thursday when it crossed the highway median and struck the 17-passenger bus and another vehicle heading the opposite way.

Durant says four people are dead, including the bus driver. He says seven others were injured. All were riding in the bus.
