HISD: Fifth grader brings gun to class

HOUSTON According to Houston Independent School District spokesperson Rebecca Suarez, a fifth grader of Reynolds Elementary School on Rosehaven brought the gun to school on Thursday. The boy apparently had it in class.

Other students reported the gun to teachers, who took the boy out of class, looked at the gun and found that it was unloaded.

Suarez says she believes the child will be charged with having a prohibited weapon. A message was sent out to parents.
