Around 8:30pm, police arrived on the scene off Harwin near Bugle. Authorities say a suspect assaulted his girlfriend and then started threatening officers. Police say the suspect locked himself inside a car, and then pointed a gun at them. That's when one of the officers fired his weapon, hitting the man in abdomen.
The suspect stayed in the car and SWAT was called out. After about two and a half hours, he got out of the car. Officers took him into custody and then to the hospital.
The suspect's girlfriend was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
