The Houston metropolitan area added more than 130,000 residents between July 2007 and July 2008. That's the biggest population boom of any city other than Dallas.
Harris County alone added more than 72,000 people. Fort Bend County had 4.8 percent growth.
Experts say Texas is a still a hot spot for jobs and areas like the Rust Belt are losing people as those cities lose jobs.
