LaQuanda Williams left with her two children, 5-year-old Jadante and 1-year-old Israel Griffin, during a supervised visit Friday. The boys were living with their paternal grandfather, Stanley Griffin, who has lgal custody. Missouri City police say after she took the children, Williams fled to Victoria.
Yesterday, investigators negotiated with Williams by cell phone to have her return the children by 7pm, but she never showed up.
We learned police in Victoria conducted surveillance at a hotel and found the mother overnight, and took the children from her. Williams is reportedly not in custody at the moment, but authorities do say she could face a charge of interfering with child custody.
The grandfather tells us he plans to take the children to be checked out by a doctor.
