The U.S. Geological Survey said the Sunday morning temblor was centered eight miles south of the unincorporated town of Tres Pinos, about 97 miles south of San Francisco. It was focused at about four miles beneath the surface.
A dispatcher for the San Benito County sheriff's office said the quake was felt, but no one complained of any damage or injuries.
