Officers tried to pull over a suspicious vehicle overnight but that driver took off. After a short chase, the suspect slammed into the back of a pickup truck, sending that truck over the Braes Bayou Bridge on Beechnut near Bissonnet.
The suspect then got out of the car and took off on foot. Police caught him a short time later and took him to the hospital.
The driver of the truck was not seriously injured.
