The teen told jurors that James Mayes began molesting her in May 2003 when she was only 12 years old. The girl said she had a crush on Mayes and that he fondled her on a school trip to Dallas with other kids present.
Jurors also heard the teenager say Mayes sexually assaulted her in her home in 2004. Mayes taught the girl at North Forest's Children's First Academy.
