Houston Comets ceasing operations

HOUSTON Yesterday, the WNBA announced it's shutting down the Houston Comets. The comets are one of the original members of the league, but have been on a roller-coaster ride the last two seasons.

The WNBA says the decision came after it decided the team can no longer stay afloat financially.
