Yesterday, faculty and staff greeted the future professionals with a standing ovation.
Many students lost possessions and their apartments. Right now, housing is being provided at Texas A&M Galveston dormitories. Students say they're glad to be back.
"As for the rest of medical school, this will definitely make that seem a lot easier after we've already been through all of this in the first few weeks," UTMB student Robert Mulcahy.
"We've lost some resources, classrooms, but we've managed to use what we have," said Assistant Dean of Education Greg Asimakis.
Besides working around damage repairs, students will have to give up part of winter and summer break get back on schedule.
