At this point, we don't know how long the child was in the car. We've got a reporter on the scene and will bring you the latest details as they become available.
Back in August, two children died in one week in our area, after being left alone in hot cars. A grandmother in Webster forgot to take a three-year-old boy to daycare on her way to work, and realized the mistake hours later. Then, several days later, a mother left her son in the back of her truck, forgetting to drop him off at daycare. She worked at a hospital at Huffmeister and the Northwest Freeway.
In both cases and in many hot car deaths, the accidents happen when a person is out of their normal routine.
