Ex-officer not guilty in child sex case

HOUSTON The jury exonerated Michael Serges Wednesday on one count of sex assault of a child under 14. Prosecutors had accused Serges of assaulting an 11-year-old girl at the Harris County Juvenile Detention Center where the girl was a detainee and he had worked as a probation officer.

Serges does face six other child sex charges.
