Good Samaritan killed in auto-pedestrian wreck

Around 11:15pm Saturday, he crossed the eastbound lanes of the East Freeway at Baca to try and rescue three dogs. During the process, he was hit and killed by a motorcyclist. A female on a motorcycle was taken to the hospital in stable condition. One of the three dogs was injured.

The victim was from Florida. His co-workers say he offered to come here because he knew what it was like to deal with storms.
