Detectives aren't sure how long the woman's attacker may have been in the apartment with her. Investigators say the suspect sexually assaulted the victim and at some point, authorities say he tied her up and left with a few items.
The woman was taken to a hospital where doctors administered a rape kit.
Details are still unclear on how the victim was able to free herself or if she knew her attacker. An investigation is underway.
