A fire in west Houston forced residents out of their beds and running for safety. It broke out last night on Enclave Parkway at Ashford. Several residents banged on doors to make sure everyone got out. At least one apartment was destroyed and several others sustained a lot of damage.

A firefighter was taken to a hospital after he twisted his knee.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
