Motorcyclist dies in freak accident

HOUSTON It happened just before midnight on South Shepherd at Rice. Authorities say the man was attempting to change lanes when he apparently drove into some uneven concrete. He lost control of the bike and flew off of it.

The man hit his head on a telephone pole. Investigators say he had his helmet on, but the impact was too severe. He died at the hospital.
