The romantic comedy "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" was next, debuting in second place with 17.3 million. Falling to third was last weekend's top movie, "Prom Night," with $9.1 million.
Al Pacino's serial-killer thriller "88 Minutes" debuted at number four with $6.8 million.
Rounding out the top five was Jodie Foster in '`Nim's Island," which earned $5.7 million.
