Residents are settling into their new homes after fire tore through an apartment building in southwest Houston. Nearly a dozen families were affected by Friday's three alarm blaze. Most have had to sift through the ashes to salvage what they can of their belongings.

Those who still have belongings intact are spending the weekend packing up and moving to new units in the same complex on Forum Park and Bissonnet.

Resident Arturo Aguilar said, "For me, now it's fine. The other people, it's zero -- they don't have nothing."

"It wasn't nothing damaged, just a little smoke," said resident William Jackson. "Everything was intact."

The fire destroyed part of one building, but no one was seriously hurt. The cause is still under investigation.
