Someone put shopping carts inside a few drains to help motorists avoid the hazard, while another person placed orange cones around other drains. Someone stole the grates a few days ago. City workers replaced them, but the city removed the grates again when they figured out it was private property.
Stolen storm drain grates create hazard
HOUSTON (KTRK) The drains sit in the parking lot of a strip center along Beechnut near Beltway 8. At least one driver suffered damage to his pickup when he hit the uncovered drain.
