Deadly big rig crash backed up rush hour traffic on I-10 for miles

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- One person was killed in a Wednesday afternoon wreck involving a passenger vehicle and a big rig.

The accident, and resulting official investigation, blocked some eastbound lanes of I-10 at the Freeport exit. Backups stretched for as many as six miles. The delays caused havoc for more than four hours.
