Video shows several streets along Richmond Avenue, near the Southwest Freeway, are flooded Friday morning after what appears to be a water main break.
The water that caused major flooding along Grant Road in Cypress has receded, but it's still unclear what happened.
Water flooded the streets on Thursday after officials say energy company contractors hit the water main while working to replace utility poles.
According to Houston Public Works, contractors for an energy company hit a water main while they were trying to install a utility pole in the normally-busy area.
The city notified residents of the notice being lifted through social media, saying, "The water no longer requires boiling."
The issues began Tuesday night after a water main break ultimately led to low water pressure. Several areas are affected.
