Southwest Schools opens their doors

HOUSTON -- Local charter school Southwest Schools opened their doors to community leaders.

Founded in 1998, Southwest Schools has grown from an inaugural 250 students to a 2016-2017 enrollment of 1,839.

The school serves students from Pre-K through 12th grade with a graduation rate of 100%.

Southwest Schools is comprised of a high school, middle school, two elementary campuses, pre-k satellite campuses and numerous on-site campuses at residential care facilities.

Southwest Schools was recently awarded the Texas Academic and Athletic League Middle School Science State Champions as well as a recent recipient of a Latin Women's Initiative Grant.
