HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Several members of the Harris County Sheriff's Office entered their retirements this week, including three four-legged deputies with quite impressive careers.

During a ceremony Tuesday, Sheriff Adrian Garcia presented K9s Tamara and Fozzie, who have both been with the department for 3 years, and Rex, a veteran of 7 years, with their retirement credentials.

Throughout their respective careers, the three K9s combined for the seizure of more than 71 kilograms of cocaine, 6,000 pounds of marijuana, 1,300 grams of methamphetamine, 298 hydro-marijuana plants, 1 firearm and $7,000.00 of US currency.

They've been involved in more than 40 area searches, 25 building searches, 84 explosives searches and 103 suspect captures.

The K9s retired with other Harris County Sheriff's Office personnel in the regularly-occurring ceremony. Also retiring with the K9 Deputies were two legged lawmen from the Sheriff's Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement Commands, Deputy J. Robinson (22 years) and Deputy G. Worley (34 years).
