ORANGE, TX (KTRK) -- It's a waiting game now for residents in Orange, who left their homes in the face of rising flood waters from the Sabine River.
Officials say it may be days before the river recedes enough for people in Orange to safely return home.

This could also spell potential travel problems for spring breakers who plan to use I-10 to come back to Houston. Some residents though say they've survived floods like this before.
"I'm grateful. I remember 8 years ago," Orange resident Ricker Ladeoux says. "So this isn't... it's Mother Nature, and there's nothing else I can do about it. I count my blessings instead of look at poor me."

A stretch of 1-10 East near the Texas-Louisiana border is expected to be closed through the weekend.
The Orange County Office of Emergency Management says they expect waters to start receding around Monday.
