Tire shop fire leads authorities to pot grow operation

FRESNO, CA -- Investigators are looking for clues in an overnight fire at a tire shop in Central Fresno.

The flames sparked before 3 a.m. Monday at the shop on Blackstone near Clinton. When firefighters arrived, they discovered the room on fire was being used to grow marijuana. Investigators say there were around 100-plants in the small room.

Investigators are now trying to track down the owner to find out whether the pot grow is legal. Firefighters say they were able to contain the flames to the room, but there is no word yet on how much damage the fire caused.
