Fire breaks out at La Porte bus barn

LA PORTE, TX (KTRK) -- A fire broke out at an old La Porte ISD bus barn Sunday afternoon.

Firefighters quickly put out the flames but did not say how it started.

La Porte ISD Director of Public Relations Terri Cook,issued the following statement:

"The fire was at our former transportation building, which we still own. There are some buses there, but they are ones that will go to auction, and they are unaffected. Fortunately, the fire will not impact the transportation of students tomorrow."
