HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Meals on Wheels has resumed its critical service of delivering food to those who cannot shop for or prepare food for themselves.
The organization was prepared for Hurricane Harvey and left its clients with five days of extra meals to get them through the storm. Friday, exactly five days since their last deliveries, Meals on Wheels was back on the road.
For Meals on Wheels driver Beverly Johnson, the service she provides is more than just a job. So when she wasn't able to see her regular customers because of Hurricane Harvey, she made sure to check on them by phone.
