HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Everyone in Houston wants to be a part of the World Series action, and Friday morning, one military family's dream unexpectedly came true!
Jim "Mattress Mack" McIngvale of Gallery Furniture surprised Nikki Rangel with tickets to Game 3.
"This nice lady -- her daughter is in Okinawa. She's a Marine. I'm going to give them two tickets to go to Astros game tonight," McIngvale said. "I'm a huge supporter of the military."
Rangel's daughter Sylvia Valdez is a huge Astros fan. Rangel, who was hoping to get a baseball cap for her daughter, was thrilled with the generous gift.
Those aren't the only tickets McIngvale will be giving away. Another lucky winner will score two tickets to the World Series. The recipient gets to choose to attend Game 3, 4 or 5. The giveaway will be held Friday between 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Gallery Furniture's North Freeway location.
Outside Gallery Furniture, SportsTalk 790 is also giving away two World Series tickets. They're holding a drawing at about 7:45 a.m. Participants must be present to win.
The furniture store will also provide free Astros caps and t-shirts at all three of its locations while supplies last.
"The whole town is excited about the Astros," McIngvale said. "The Astros have done so much to help rebuild this city after Harvey."
Mattress Mack has become a hometown hero after transforming his furniture stores into shelters after Hurricane Harvey.
