HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- At least two weather systems are bringing torrential downpours that could lead to severe flooding in parts of Southeast Texas, which prompted ABC13 Weather Alert Days through Wednesday.
The ABC13 Weather Team said to expect an average of 3 to 6 inches of rain, leading to the potential for flash flooding in Houston through Thursday morning.
Drivers will need to exercise caution over the next few days and be aware of high-water spots.

A 15-year-old's body was recovered from floodwaters in Magnolia on Tuesday evening after authorities said the teenager, along with some friends, was playing near a retention pond.
According to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the 30000 block of Turriff Circle following a report of a missing juvenile in a flooded retention pond at about 6 p.m.
Investigators said they learned that a group of teenagers was riding 4-wheelers near a construction roadway and adjacent retention pond when a 15-year-old entered the water. Officials said the water quickly exceeded the teenager's height, and he went under.
Authorities said a 911 call was made immediately before the Magnolia Fire Department responded to the scene.
After an extensive search using sonar technology, MCSO said the 15-year-old was recovered and pronounced dead at the scene.
MCSO said its detectives are conducting a death investigation, which they said is protocol after a drowning incident. Investigators said there is no indication of foul play.

Freeport officials are warning drivers to be safe on Wednesday after flooding shut down several of their roadways.
In a Facebook post, the Freeport Police Department said barricades were set up due to flooded roads.
They asked drivers to respect the road closures and turnaround points and not to drive around or move the barricades.
"Let's work together to keep our community safe. Please use caution while traveling and avoid flooded areas whenever possible," they said in the social media post.
Cleveland Independent School District announced it will close all summer camp activities on Wednesday due to severe weather.
The summer camp closure list includes Southside Elementary, Cleveland Middle School, Santa Fe Middle School, and Cleveland High School. In addition, Indian Camp for incoming ninth-grade students at Cleveland HS and Step Up Camp for incoming sixth-grade students at Cleveland MS and Santa Fe MS will be rescheduled.
According to the district, it will evaluate the weather forecast for Thursday, June 18. Any updates regarding the district will be relayed through the Cleveland ISD's official communication channels.
