HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- At least two weather systems are bringing torrential downpours that could lead to severe flooding in parts of Southeast Texas, which prompted ABC13 Weather Alert Days through Wednesday.

The ABC13 Weather Team said to expect an average of 3 to 6 inches of rain, leading to the potential for flash flooding in Houston through Thursday morning.

Drivers will need to exercise caution over the next few days and be aware of high-water spots.

FIFA Fan Festival Houston closed on Monday due to anticipated inclement weather, organizers say

As tropical downpours drench Houston on Monday, FIFA officials have decided to close the fan festival.

The announcement was made late Sunday night on an official FIFA account for the Houston area.

Organizers of the FIFA Fan Festival Houston said the safety of everyone involved was a top priority, and the host committee looked forward to welcoming fans back as soon as conditions allow.

An ABC13 Weather Alert Day has been issued for Monday and Tuesday due to the possibility of flooding. Tropical downpours could drop three to six inches of rain across Southeast Texas.

FIFA organizers did not say whether or not the closure would be extended should weather conditions remain a concern.
