SPRING, Texas (KTRK) -- A family in northwest Harris County may have lost all seven of their cats in an overnight house fire, according to the homeowner.

It happened around 1:30 a.m. on Moreton Court in the Memorial Northwest neighborhood.

The homeowner says loud explosions woke her up around 1:30 a.m. Saturday. She said she saw her backyard spa on fire and yelled for her husband and two children to get out.

Their seven cats were still inside the home.

"I ran outside, but I needed to call 911," the homeowner said. "I went back in to get my phone, but I didn't get my cats. My cats are in the house. So we got out, but my husband was still inside and I couldn't call 911. So, we started screaming. No one could hear us, so we started pounding on doors."

All four people inside got out safely, but the home is considered a total loss.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

"I lost everything," the homeowner said. "But thank God, my family is safe."
